These terms govern your use of https://backdropzap.com, the editor, the API and integrations.

2.2 The service

Guests who are not signed in can use up to ten free previews per visitor per day for personal use only. The on-screen preview is limited to 1024 pixels on its longest edge; the free download is limited to 0.25 megapixels. Images may contain up to 50 megapixels, subject to supported formats and upload-size limits. Network quotas, security checks and the shared cloud budget also apply.

Guest previews use cloud processing with Cloudflare Turnstile verification. Background removal runs in the cloud; we do not offer on-device processing when a request is unavailable or fails.

When you are signed in, editor uploads automatically use cloud processing at full resolution and require credits. There is no separate full-resolution processing step. Account processing and API use cost one credit per successfully processed image. Eligible verified accounts may receive ten free trial credits once, subject to abuse-prevention admission. Enterprise arrangements are governed by separate contracts.

2.3 Accounts

You must be at least 16 years old and provide an accurate email address. Each person is eligible for one free trial. You are responsible for keeping your API keys secret. You can revoke your keys at any time from your dashboard.

2.4 Acceptable use

Do not use the service for unlawful content, sexual content involving minors, or content that infringes another person’s rights. Scraping, automation and circumvention of free-preview limits are prohibited. API rate limits apply. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these rules.

2.5 Content and intellectual property

You keep all rights to the images you upload and the resulting outputs. We process your images only to deliver the result you request. BackdropZap never uses your images to train models. Paid outputs may be used commercially. Free previews are for personal use. BackdropZap’s software, marks and site content remain ours.

2.6 Credits and payments

Prices appear on the pricing page in USD. Taxes are calculated and included at checkout by Paddle, the merchant of record. We announce subscription price changes at least 30 days before renewal. Credits are non-transferable and do not expire, including subscription credits after cancellation.

Plans marked Coming soon cannot be purchased. You may ask to be notified when purchases open. Joining that list requires your consent and does not create an account, purchase or subscription or send an email immediately.

2.7 Service quality

Results depend on the input image, and we do not guarantee a particular result. The service is provided “as is” with reasonable care. Planned maintenance and provider outages may cause interruptions.

2.8 Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited. Consumers keep the mandatory protections of their own country.

2.9 Termination

You may request account deletion at any time from your dashboard. Completion follows cancellation of any active subscription and completion of processing already underway. Account closure and data deletion may take time to finish. We may terminate an account for breach of these terms, with notice where reasonable. Unused paid credits are handled according to the Refund policy.

2.10 Changes

We announce material changes to these terms at least 30 days before they take effect, by email or on the site. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance of the revised terms.

2.11 Governing law and courts

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to its courts. This does not affect consumers’ mandatory local rights or their right to bring a claim in their own country.
